Alex Clark

Alex Clark is a novelist, short story writer, poet, and connoisseur of all things Gothic. She is an undercover Northerner based in Cheltenham, where she lives with her husband and children. Her career has been varied, including stints as a cathedral stonemason, industrial archaeologist, and gardener.

When not writing, she works for groundbreaking pay-as-you- can restaurant The Long Table, growing and sourcing local produce. She likes scything, corvids, and M.R. James, and thinks Dungeness is a great minibreak destination. Her debut novel, a Gothic literary thriller featuring arson, obsession, and unrequited love, will be published in 2026.
