Richard Smyth’s books include An Indifference of Birds, The Jay, the Beech and the Limpetshell, and the novel The Woodcock.
His short stories have been published by The Fiction Desk, The Fence, Structo, The Stinging Fly, The Lonely Crowd, and others, and broadcast on BBC Radio 4; he also writes regularly for outlets including The Guardian, New Scientist, Aeon, The TLS, Literary Review, Slightly Foxed, and Prospect.
He lives in West Yorkshire, and is currently writing a book on the history of fascism and the environment.
